Rev-Matching: The car features an automatic throttle-blip feature on downshifts, which is automatically active in Efficient and Sport modes but disables in Sport Plus for pure manual heel-and-toe driving.

Upgraded Clutch: BMW adapted and modified the 1-Series M transmission for the M4, implementing a robust twin-plate clutch and improved synchros to handle the high torque load.
